2012 Nissan Maxima: Get Comfy and Have Fun

Nissan has long referred to its Maxima sedan as the “four-door sports car,” and if you’ve ever driven this model, it’s quite possible you see why.


For the 2012 model year, the Maxima has a few changes in appearance and a few added features, yet its sportiness endures.

The Maxima is powered by a 3.5 liter V-6 engine that makes 290 horsepower and 261 pounds-feet of torque. The Maxima is linked to a continuously variable transmission, with optional paddle shifters, if you want to get a bit more involved in the driving.

Gas mileage is pretty good, given the large engine, with the Maxima getting EPA ratings of 19 mpg city, 26 highway.

On the inside, Maxima offers comfort for driver and passengers and technology that is convenient and easy to use.
